What do the following titles say to you about a book:
WORK/LIFE REVOLUTION: Coworking and Autonomy at Work
or
I’M OUTTA HERE: How Coworking Will Get You Out of the Office and Into Productivity
I am editing a book for my awesome friend Tony Baciaglupo and Todd Sundstead, and Drew Jones. The first title describes the book just fine, but it sounded a bit…academic. I was imagining the book on a table at Borders – would I pick it up? From what I know about coworking, it’s FUN and INSPIRING and COLLABORATIVE. I thought the title should reflect that more. Ok the truth is, I wasn’t actually having all these conscious thoughts – I just heard the title and just started spitting stuff out. “I’m outta here” just popped out, and within minutes, Tony had whipped up an awesome cover to go with it. I don’t know that the name will stick (Drew still has to vote on it), and I think we could tweak the subtitle a bit – but I thought it was pretty catchy!
